Kan-J was born in Belgium and has been drawing ever since he could first hold a crayon in his pudgy little hands. He holds a diploma as a carpenter, but moved to Embrun, ON in 1976 and switched careers to be a freelance comic artist at that time.
He is married and has two children. He loves to go to comic shops, and the cinema, especially likes anime movies. He enjoys time spent at the library, and listening to music.
Kan-J will use the money from the Ben Wicks Award to further promote his artistic career.
2011 Update: Kan-J is on his 4th French comic book. His projects can be viewed on his website http://defect-ink.blogspot.com/ and fans can reach him at defectink@live.ca
